Opening research

What should my first couple techs be? I know it's going to be different depending on what you specialize in, but if I want to get my economy rolling what should be focusing on?

I would say advanced materials and remote harvesting and intermidiate trading

Depends on what class you are. Trader I would probably go for AMC, otherwise I would look for a trader to trade with and skip on the skill.

If you are a researcher I would consider Planetology, I like growing the population to help with the planets. As a Warlord.. I'm not sure. Perhaps there are others better suited to answering Warlord skills.
