Small Harvesters/harvestor Tech

Here is something I find confusing. I am able to produce Small Harvestors but have not researched Harvester Tech? Are my small harvesters actually working? Is the Harvester tech just a bigger freighter or nessecesary for harvesting to actually work correctly?

I wish ther was a way to see at planet what resources are actually arriving (the rate is calculated and shown).

Maybe it is just me that feels this way?

Mini harvesters are available to everyone. It isn't until you research the 1st harvester tech that you get Resource Harvesters. And the difference between the two are immense. Mini's hold 250 total, whereas Resource Harvesters hold 1500 total.

It seems to take me forever to get resources. Not sure how I am doing compared to others.
